Stockholm

For Stockholm I chose to use some of our onboard credit and just purchased an excursion through Carnival. For our excursion we would be going to the Vasa Museum and an Ice Bar. The Vasa Museum was amazing, and the pictures don’t do it justice. The Vasa is an only preserved Viking ship in the world. It sank on its maiden voyage in 1628 and became preserved in the mud below the sea. The process to begin lifting it from the sea began in 1959 and they would spend another year and a half preparing for the final lift. It was finally out and ready for display in 1962. The process of preparing the ship began in 1962 and treatment would continue until 1979. Somethings didn’t take and they continued treatment until 1989. Finally in 1990 the ship was complete. Below are video highlights from our day in Stockholm.
