When cruising the ship docks in Warnemunde which is about two and a half hours by car or three hours by train. For this port I wanted to visit Berlin as I love history, especially anything that pertains to World War 2. So, I ended up booking a tour through Viator that would take us first to Sachenhausen which was one of the earlier concentration camps and just outside of Berlin. Then we would be taken to Berlin to visit the Holocaust Memorial, Checkpoint Charlie, Brandenburg Gate, the Berlin Wall and various other landmarks. This was my favorite excursion of the trip. I would love to go and spend a week in Berlin as there are lots of museums to see. Even though our port day was 14 hours long the almost 6 hours round trip to get there and back made for a long day and probably won’t make the trip again but will probably explore Lubeck next time.
Here is a video picture highlight of Berlin.
