I now have my site up and running again so need to play catch up for the last couple of months. Still need to post all of our trip to Europe for this summer before summer rolls around again for when we embark on Europe again this summer. Very excited Lexi is tagging along again to see more of what Europe has to offer. Really excited to see Amsterdam this summer as well as several other places different from last summer. So on to where I left off last.
So I know I said I was going to post our three days in London but still working on all the pictures and videos so figured I would start off with the cruise and do a full tour of London as we spent three days before the cruise and three days after in London.
To get to the cruise terminal you have to take some form of transportation as the port is in Dover. We chose to take the train from St.Pancras Station to Dover. The train ride is around an hour and a half. From there you are 0.7 miles from the port. On a normal day you can take a taxi from there but for us we had a detour. But more on that in a moment.
We left the hotel and made our way to the tube station. From Angel to we only had to go to one stop. We then walked to St.Pancras International Station to board the Southeastern train to Dover. For this just like any train you have to handle your own luggage on the train but it was pretty easy.
Now our detour. So we received notice from the cruiseline that they were doing work on the rail line and we would have to exit the train a stop before Dover. From there they were providing buses to the Dover Station. A perk from the delay that they also had a bus there to take us to the port. So once we accomplished our transfers it was a quick check in and onto the ship we go.

If you have the time they have tours that go to see the White Cliffs and Dover Castle. I do think when we return that I want to visit the castle however you do have good views of the white cliffs.
Check in was a breeze and we walked right onto the ship. Also, I will note this information in regard to sailing in Europe. I have come across a lot of people on cruises that didn’t know but if you drink you are allowed to take any alcohol you wish onboard. In the US you are only allowed to take on one 750ml bottle of water per person but in Europe you can take anything and as much as you want. This also applies to any bottled beverages you wish to take.
So once onboard we dropped off our carry-on luggage, ate lunch and then waited for sail away. I booked an aft balcony cabin as it is my favorite if they are available when I book. I love that the balcony is larger and watching the wake is a plus. It will become a big asset when we leave Kiel Germany but more on that once we get to that port day. Here is our view for the next 13 days.
